What is Hidden Behind Words

Cresposaccent

When she tells everyone that she is okay,

They smile and move on without hesitation or delay,

If only they saw the truth behind what she has said,

They would begin to see that her spark is dead,

She once was a little girl with flowers in her hair,

Skips along the riverside without any care,

As she grew up her eyes lost their glint,

She reached out for help but no one ever took the hint,

Alone in the world she tried with all her might,

But it was getting harder and harder to go to sleep at night,

When she met him everything looked up towards the stars,

Years later he was just another to tear down her heart,

If only she could tell someone about the pain behind her eyes,

They would be able to help her before her demise,

It was a hot summers day and her sleeves were down,

But she covered it up with a smile and a flower crown,

No one would know that if she lifted up her shirt,

Everyone would see that she was constantly hurt,

Emotionally she was in pain and her body was too,

But she never dare to leave because of you,

She holds you dear to her heart so she refuses to run,

He doesn't know that you gave up your only son,

Knowing one day this will all be done,

Then her son and her's true life has begun,

She knew that if she keep you you would suffer too,

That was something she was never going to do,

She wrote you a letter and tucked it in your teddy bear,

it wasn't until you could read did you start to care,

These people around that loved you to begin,

Could never heal the hole that was empty within,

You read between the lines of what she tried to say,

"Now is not our time but we will meet someday"

You knew she was hurting and their was nothing you could do,

You knew she loved you and that she did all she knew,

But the only wish you've had since you knew she was hurt,

Was that someone someday could see what was hidden in words,
