Bulwarking loud message to keep out, thick walls
shout a menace of warning.
Herald of fear in days of yore a fortress brooked
no man-made breaching at all.
Yet defences of pride hold no less terror, erecting
exclusion with scorn or frown.
Frigid mindscapes built high maintain a distance
but scaled by love veils fall down.
Smiles smash with kind blows stone stronger than
steel by mildly chipping away.
When heart calls to heart no mighty rampart can
stand in love's insistent way.

You are so right. These emotional ramparts i am so familiar with cry to be sacked by love. But oh my, the years have built them strong and high.
Reading you today had me feeling i was being reminded how false is my facade.

Good Evening Fay ~ love the visuals ! Thnaks for a very challenguing Poem. Bcause MEN are from Mars & LADIES are from Venus their understanding of & expectation from Love is very different ! In Youth Men are looking for *FLINGS* and Ladies for *FULFILMENT* This explains some of the frustrations of early couurtship ! I worked hard at it for over 15 years (17 - 33) then i met Angela when I was 33. A strong minded YANG met a strong minded YIN ! Our UNION worked because at a deeper level True Love i the same for YIN & YANG so we resonated and two isolated HEARTS became ONE ~ AMEN ! It is the superficial aspects of LOVE that clash and result in incompatibility ! TRUE LOVE is beyond human comprehension so it is not something to be debated but something to be EXPERIENCED & ENJOYED ! We would rather be together than with anyone else on Earth. We have now found what we were searching for in our Teens and twenties ~ AMEN Thanks for the challenge !
