WW1 - They were all Related
2019
And yet, there stood opposition, finely clad, gloriously
Thousands to prove their mantle, in call of duty
Misplaced loyalties, knowing to never see the dawn of day
Sacrificing, neither for personal gain nor profit, nor
for country, alas to appease the whim of squabbling siblings
Such poems a plenty, staged for kings n generals, no not for play.

Excellent Suresh & so deserving of more attention than your pearl of a poem has so far received.. each time I have read these words through.. I get the feeling of a great war poem and a lump in my throat... and true..

During WWI, on which this is based, the aristocracy of all the warring nations in Europe were related, thus the siblings reference.
