Michael posted a picture of a Tulip a few days ago. This prompted me to write a Poem about Tulips. When I visit Norfolk & Holland I am always very impressed not only by the colours but also the amazing variegation of Tulips.  Tulips are a very popular subject for Artists especially in Amateur Classes.  Brian bought me a dozen red roses for Valentine and I bought him a dozen red tulips. They are amazing and when the buds bloomed the stems twisted & turned every which way wicked ! Our Parks & Gardens will soon be bursting with Tulip Glory !

Ah thank you for the dedication - a great acrostic for a a great flower. I agree that most people are quite unaware of the variations in form and colour of the tulip right through frm the worldwide species to the modern cultivars . Those colourful blowsy we see growing in the Netherlands are at just one end of the wide spectrum.
