HAIKU SPRING (3)

Michael Edwards

Lemon basted days

Leaves unfurl on natures herbs

The flavours of spring.

I'm not buying into this formula at all you know (poor excuse for my own sad failings at combining maths and verse really).
After all.... how do YOU feel about 'painting by numbers'.

        • Michael Edwards

Ah but painting by numbers requires no artistic skills and only a limited knowlege of technique. Certainly painting by numbers is something no acknowledged masters ever submit to. Leonardo, Picasso, etc, never.

Poetry forms however challenge poetic skills and have been used by the acclaimed masters from the dawn of poetry. Shakespear, Basho, Dylan Thomas, W H Auden etc, certainly.

          Spring forward and smile
          Lemons quenched in showers mild
          The taste bitter sweet

          I Love love love spring!

          Great haiku :0)

The poem and the color of the paint fit perfect. The word " basted" here is a marvelous choice.

Thanks for your kind words - so much appreciated.
