Love's Due.

Fay Slimm.

Love's Due.

Love, blind to weakness,
sees what it chooses
but shadows cast images
and joy sits unused.

Doubt born of judgement
frowns at trust's view
and ends tender harmony
deflecting love's due.

We, what we are, attract
discordant tunes
but love's baton composes
more than just music

A tuneful and fine write Fay. I might sing it, but the other poets throw dirt at me if I do - literally?! heehee.

An anatomy of reticence to allow ones heart to play again in three concise verses.

What a wicked game our past amour has played with us as we age and opportunity becomes scarce.

Love exacts loyalty, which makes it a hostage to doubt - which only writers, such as yourself, do so poetically exclaim.

                      • Fay Slimm.

Thank you for this perceptive and very well written comment my friend.
