time flies

Crystal Hope

yesterday I held your hand,
and today it's buried in the ground.
yesterday your voice echoed,
but now I don't hear a sound.

time flies everyday so fast,
it's like a clock has wings.
once you had so much
and then lost everything.

yesterday I hugged you
brushing against your cotton seams.
yesterday I carried treasure,
but now it's buried in my dreams.

time flies everyday
with the ember wings of a clock.
your presence was all around me,
but left with one tick tock.

time flies everyday
and your name flutters by.
you will always be remembered
with your own ember wings in the sky.
