Listen carefully

Aa Harvey

Listen carefully.

Embrace the tree, for it has been a century in the making.

Use kindly words when you need to speak,

For their thoughts may well be illuminating.

Relax your shoulders and forget your jobs.

You are never too busy to find the time.

A hand shake is a form of smile.

A happy friend of mine.

Do not be an ice cave,

To their new age ways,

They could teach you a thing or two.

Take off your shoes,

Put on your sandals,

Wear a tie-dye t-shirt in place of your suit.

Connect with Earth

And find your inner peace.

If you are not willing to listen,

Then you will never hear your heart speak.

This is lovely and well needed reminder at that. Beautifully written, almost freeing in its tone.

Beautiful words of advice on real living and from which to learn - a verse to put into my favourites to read over again. Thank you for sharing that lovely finalé of the last stanza.
