I lost my Phone ~ missed an important call
Tripped on the curb ~ an* had a nasty fall !
I got soaked ~ umbrelli inside out
Drank too much Port ~ an* now Im gettin* gout
I overeat ~ Mum says I look quite stout
I fished all day ~ an* never caught a Trout !
I lost my wallet ~ all my cards an* munny
Told my Dad ~ an* he thought it was funny !
My Friend forgot ~ we were to dine last night
Id paid for two ~ then lost my appetite .........
Went home upset an* feelin* quite uptight
My Weddin* Suit*s arrived ~ Thank GOD it fits all right !
The forecast for my WEDDING DAY is rain - rain - rain
Sometimes I feel my LIFE is goin* down the DRAIN !

Thanks for you reply Uncle Steve ~ A drop of Port does settle the Stomach ~ but like all Alcapone it should be drunk in moderation. At the Evangelical Church where Angela & I are Youth Leaders we usually self-cater for the Wedding Breakfast in the Church Hall ~ but it is stricrly TT as they do not allow C2H5OH (in any form) to be served on the premises. Even our Communion Wine is non-alcoholic ! Don Pedro & Mama Maria are very happy for their beloved Angela to be married in *Una Eglesia Evangelica* but to Don Pedro (Importer of Rioja in Chief !) a TT wedding was an OXYMORON ! Thankfully my College came to the Rescue and the Catering Depatment & Music Department (for a modest Fee !) have accepted responsibiity for the Wedding Breakfast (with a String Quartette) and the Evening Dance & Buffet in the College Hall. They are including TAPAS in both menus and liaising with Don Pedro for the Drinks ! Alls well that ends well ~ AMEN !

We may have the odd bad day but in my many year most of them have been wonderful as I am sure yours will.
If it does rain on your Wedding Day it will not matter a the Vicar of our town told me once as we were walking in the rain "Skin is waterproof."
Interesting variation on the sonnet form. I don't really know why, but I would end it 'Drain - Drain - Drain', though it doesn't scan. Best wishes for the wedding.
