Tune: Lasst Uns Erfreuen
('All creatures of our God and King')
Based on part of Psalm 93
*********
The floods have lifted up their voice
We must turn back, we have no choice
Alleluia, Alleluia
For Holy Brook* its banks have burst
To progress further we not durst (=dare)
Dry land is flooded, quenched its thirst
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
* Or insert name of your local River or Brook
As Jordan's banks did overflow
Here a true picture, even so
Alleluia, Alleluia
Cows of the meadows, in barns stalled
Farmers them to their shelters called
Fields as lakes, swans, geese not appalled
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
The fields turned into water span
Keeping to path, only way can
Alleluia, Alleluia
We hope to pass [is] on higher ground
But near river no place is found
For our feet, return we are bound
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
Help us Lord your ways, paths to know
Where impassable not to go
Alleluia, Alleluia
Sun's rays glinting on surface pool
Takes time for it to recede all
Trusting in you Lord we not fall
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
Yet where way muddy, hazardous
You have gone the way before us
Alleluia, Alleluia
E'en on rugged paths, hill and dale
Though not always smooth be the trail
You e'er our guide, you ne'er us fail
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
The Lord on high is mightier
Than many waters that may stir
Alleluia, Alleluia
Through field and forest, town, country
If the way hard or lighter be
You bide with us eternally
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Love his Orchi. However, it the sheep that have been crapping themselves down this way!
