CORONA VIRUS (COVID - 19) IS NOW OFFICIALLY A PANDEMIC ~ COVERING THE WHOLE OF PLANET EARTH. LIKE FLU & OTHER VIRUSES IT IS SPREAD BY PERSON TO PERSON CONTACT ~ ALSO ON SURFACES. INFECTED PEOPLE SHOULD SELF - ISOLATE ~ AND WE SHOULD ALL WASH OUR HANDS (WATER & SOAP) REGULARLY.
T HE current virus (COVID - 19) is a new one ~ there is no antidote ~ yet
H OW did it spread rapidly into the Global Human Population ? Viruses
E VOLVE (Mutate) and it could have started in Animals and spread to Humans.
C OVID 19 spreads globally (like Flu) through Human Contact.
O NCE inside the the body it replicates (multiplies) and (like Flu) attacks the
R ESPIRATORY system ~ Consequently Seniors (60+) with .......
O THER illnesses are much more at risk than Younger People with
N ORMAL lifestyles. They are less likely to die ~ but will experience effects like
A N acute Cold or Flu. Fatality Statistics for Flu .......
V ARY ~ but are about 1 : 1000 but fatality from COVID 19 about 1 : 100 !
I N view of this ~ it explains the Draconian Measures (Closures) ~ to
R EDUCE Human Contact in Countries with a high infection rate.
U NLESS the number of infected cases in UK rises sharply ~ we should keep
S CHOOLS - Colleges - Universities OPEN ~ but avoid crowds ~ OK !

I read a sensible news sheet entitled 'Items For Prayer' including Coronavirus. It said 'Faith not fear'.
Not gung-ho attitude, though SOME at that church can be a bit 'so-so' or 'British stiff upper lip. Sort of 'we'll think about it in 20 years time' outlook!
Meanwhile in churches - adaptations for Communion Service, etc.
BRIAN HERE ~ Thanks for your comment Uncle Steve. We are also PRAYING ~ in a general way that the NOVID 19 Pandemic will pass through without too much loss of life ! We are also praying specifically for Medical Staff (who are exposed) and those who operate Retirement Homes etc. Christians are normlly quite sensible & law abiding ~ so I guess we will heed the Governments Warnings and (like Pilate) WASH OUR HANDS ! I'm happy if it's partly answered OAP's question. well, people in churches are human beings - well, in most of the churches. Doh! Some can be like The Living Dead. If you find such a place, don't join it! lol. I'm sure there's no living dead in YOUR church though!
And why shouldn't over sixties have normal lifestyles!!
I am busier now than when I was at work.
