Losing You.
Perhaps ours was not a usual love,
the sort that demands continual proof,
fervour which naught can cool or drown,
the fierce passion that willingly lays down
its needs for another's approval, no our own
affection was something written in lighter tone.
Ours had the keenness of separate
beings enjoying share of time together,
reaching for comfort found hand in hand
when trouble meant need of understanding,
yes our connection led us to friendship's corner,
where choice was honoured and respect afforded.
Yet love was there,
it grew with care
of each for each,
so in losing you
death, of a sort
took me too.

What a wonderful poem Fay, so moving, that lost love that became such close friendship can be so important in our lives.

ANGELA HERE - In my exerience over the last 16 years the temperature of *Love* has a wide range Cool - warm - hot - red hot ! But *True Love* is often found at the *KOOLER* end because it is not obsessive or posessive and each partner is given SPACE ! The love between Brian & I is warm but of course we are not married yet. The Wedding has now been brought forward to Saturday (28 March 2020)and I will be 32 on Monday 30th March. After we are married and move into our First House - the temperature may rise ! I love the Koolness of the Love you describe and how it developed. When this gentle love which gradually brought you closer & closer together was cut short by death - I can fully understand why emotionally you died also. A very emotional & salutary Poem thanks for sharing.
Love - Joy & Peace
