Tune: Wolvercote
(one tune to: 'O Jesus I have promised')
Acts 4 v.33-37
***********
In early church the multitude
Each other's care they viewed
Believers of one heart and soul
They did hear the Lord's call
None said that any of their things
Was their own, each one brings
Possessions to a common pool
They shared out bewteen all
With great power apostles thy
Gave witness in their day
Witness of the resurrection
Of Jesus to each one
And great grace was upon them all
Supportive, they not fall
Nor did any lack for they shared
Their goods, and each well fared
Even those with houses or lands
Sold them, and with their hands
Brought proceeds of things that were sold
Heart's love did not grow cold
For apostle distributed
To each as had need, did
So Barnabas too, it its told
Having land, he it sold

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. 8.6.8.6. metre. These things they did, even though no national emergency at that time. But caring, sharing, loving, help to poor and needy, etc.

Share and share alike eh' …. if only someone would tell all those greedy, selfish panic buyers that are depriving everyone else but particularly the most needy of essentials... Stay safe and wash ya paws regularly, okay.... Neville
Thanks Neville. Queues outside Waitrose. Who can afford stuff in there? Ostrich eggs, Scotch salmon, elephant's foot, etc (maybe only in Harrods that one)!
Well writ O.
Thanks M.
