On this day

Alta H Mabin

Many see this time

as a lockdown, an invasion

on our lives,

unimaginable frustrations

But for so many

this means despondency

and utter despair, a time

with very little hope and purpose

Those less fortunate than us, without

food, family, freedom

No connection

to another soul

It is in this moment

that I refuel

on how I

really feel

It is on this day

this very instant

I embrace this life

only a few could conjure

Yes, true, often (and at present) others worse off than us. Not that we're unaffected though. We have our troubles at present, if minor compared to some people's.

So true, I consider myself so fortunate in this time of horror.
