Delight?
Is there delight ?
In this pandemic fight?
Let’s get delight- full!
Change the mindset in that skull.
Delight in unsung heroes
Doctors, nurses, those volunteer roles,
Delight in time to stop and stare
To show each other kindness and care,
Delight in the air you can breathe
The springtime birth - budding leaf,
Delight in the sun on your face
The world at a much slower pace,
Delight in what’s being taught
The important things for which we fought,
Delight in those held dear
The lesson is very clear!
We don’t need the rat race
Now we give each other space,
Now we consider others plight
Now we keep our neighbours in sight,
Now we focus on basic essentials
Displaying empathy - our credentials,
Delight in the hereafter-
Delight in the sound of laughter,
Living life at a slower pace
The world with a caring face,
Delight- be delight- full and humbled
At this time - when the world stumbled.

Delight is there for us, people are coming together even though they remain apart. I hope that this wonderful way that many people are coming together during this time remains when all is well again.
Your words express the happiness that can be found in trouble.
Andy

Thank you for your lovely words - we certainly are in strange times.
I also wrote this prayer for the time
A prayer for our time
Our NHS, who are in our hearts,
honoured in our minds,Â
Out of retirement some have come,Â
When there is work to be done,Â
on the front line for all of us.Â
We give you this day our daily thanks.Â
And we realise your torment and stress,Â
as we fight this virus
That threatens against us.Â
Don’t lead yourself into temptation,Â
but isolate to help deliver us from this evil.
For ours is the responsibility
and the power, and the duty,Â
To protect the NHS and each other
For the sake of all we hold dear. Amen.
Beautifully said, couldn't agree more!
