I have been amazed!
over this lockdown period
many christians have come forward
and announced their disappointment
in not being able to have
easter celebration parties
which would be joyous occasions
where champagne would flow
and sherry sipped.
How absolutely weird!
i should have thought
a more appropriate marking
of the murder of jesus by mankind
would be solemn prayer
asking for forgiveness.
You might say they are
celebrating his rise from the dead
for which of course there would
be no need if mankind hadnt
killed him in the first place.
How macabre it is to see
all around christianity
images of a tortured man
nailed to a cross.
What a strange thing this
christianity is with so many
dual standards inbuilt.

Tis odd, an observation and subsequent opinion shared by many I imagine.......
Thanks Dusk Arising,
A good write and thought provoking poem.
Well, Corvid 19 is certainly challenging people of faith around the world.
May God bless you and keep you safe through this pandemic.
Keep writing FineB
So true d a, as you know I was a christian, I was even a Chaplain and led services but that all changed and a weight was lifted from me. Those dual standards are there all the time, the only belief that is important is your own that is within you, as mine now is. Cbristianity is a farce!
Andy
Agree with Neville - tis odd indeed
