Thoughts.

Fay Slimm.

Thoughts.

Met once in the harbour of need,
she found a soul she believed akin
to her own, lonely and bleeding
for want of love and she felt it begin.

After a while days took on the glow
of feeling alive, blew away mists
from dull disillusion, knowing
he mattered more than his kisses
but distance became a mutual
sore, and as never before tears
began staining her hours, duty
bound, her choice faced freedom.

Distress meant a more trying test,
she found love demands detachment,
then life can re-write itself sensibly
with acceptance of Now for enrapture.

When looked at yesterday-thoughts
brought miserable night-black times,
dreams plied non-action, taught
nothing but how to keep whining,
love held the winning hand yet truth
was labelled by her own longing,
compassionate chores wore duty
reluctantly while life spun sad songs.

Her yesterday thinking was halted
     and by destiny's capture, aborted.

Once tasted, the richest flavour remains in our souls to drain our resources of desire.
Along comes the practicality of common sense and erects a barrier of "i can do without more of that wrecking my life" safely around us.
But oh dear,.. we erected it ourselves and we know just where to find it's weak spots..... and somehow so do the enemy.

Dontcha just love it when ya see the pictures ya paint in the minds of yareaders.... or not maybe lol

I certainly do like to think my picture-words stay in readers minds to help resurrect their own stories D.A. - - and your generous comment as always is extremely appreciated my friend.

Fay, great poem, and that first line 'harbor of need' is just incredible. We are all like ships hoping to dock in the 'harbor of need' every once in a while to load up on that need, just to sail away again.

Wonderful write Fay, may that destiny return for your love to continue to its own destiny.

    O We remember Yesterday !

BRIAN HERE ~ Thanks for sharing FAY. When Angela & I first met (She was 28 - I was 33) we both felt we could share our experiences of those we had Loved & Lost. Especialy as neither of us had been Engaged or Married. The *words* in your Poem ~ ring very true in both our experiences. We still *Remember Yesterday* but it makes what we have NOW even more precious ! Married (for almost a Month !) & in our first Home together ~ AWESOME !

    Blessings & Peace & Joy
