Sea of Obituary
Fragments of obituaries
Cloud my vision
And
Since they come in
Waves
It feels a little bit like
Drowning
This should never be
Not in 2020 surely
It is though darling
And yes
It will be even when
You eventually open
Your baby blue eyes
Look behind
Those death certs honey
There are bodies
Piled outside capitals
And they are everywhere
London and New York
Are not exceptions
Mass graves and fire pits
Are in vogue as summer
Beckons
And welcomes all
Cautious visitors
At least those wearing
Gloves and face masks
To the twenty first century

A sensitive write Neville. As a 'plague' the virus is like The Black Death of around 1348.
One would think we have moved on, as a civilised society. Yet what is civilised about the 'wet markets' where this all started?
In my mad moments, I say 'I was there of course, and survived it in 1348 '. Well, I was there in 1066, so......
thank you for your response to these words... these are indeed difficult times... much appreciated
Take care,
Neville
Were you there too in 1348 - in facetious moments? But who would want to be there?
Just read dusks and now this one - both really great writes and now I need a laughter tonic - I'll try to keep all mine in the light hearted vein.
I know precisely where you are coming from Michael.. thanks for visiting this sombre scribble...

Any description of manifold deaths has to be powerful and this force comes from your lines like a dirge of reality - - we are faced with viewing the unviewable and you took up the reigns today my friend. May we keep taking care and bearing the brunt of planet-abuse results - - at least that is the way my humble mind see it............... x
Nowt wrong with your eyes dear Fay.... thank you for viewing this morbid scribble and your valued contribution to this page....

Sad, but true, Neville. These are tough times, but as always, we will overcome.
That's the spirit sir... many thanks are on their way to ya write now....
