Dreaming

clarissavibes

If I could, I'd pick you up and we'd go driving in the sunshine, lots of music, holding hands, destination unknown.

If I could, I'd go for a walk in the woods with you and we'd stop and kiss and laugh. I'd drink in the smile of your eyes and how your laugh sounds without a phone separating us.

If I could, I'd cook dinner with you and we'd dance around the kitchen together and make each other cocktails and remember back to the time we could only be together on the phone.

If I could, I'd pull you into my bed and we'd kiss and touch and breathe and stare at each other in disbelief of the pandemic that stood in our way.

If I could, I'd go grocery shopping with you and do all of the mundane day to day things that I know you'd make into a fun adventure.

If I could,  I’d lounge on the couch with you on a rainy Sunday and watch movies and hold hands. We’d nap and kiss and laugh and wish it would never end.

If I could, I probably wouldn’t change a thing because if I’ve learned one thing in this life it’s that everything happens as it should.

In these times 'If I could' has become so important to us all but remember one day 'we will'.
