Released From Despair.

Goldfinch60

Our lives bring times that pull us down,

Down towards the depths of despair,

The times where you perceive,

Perceive you should have taken a different path.

But the path you are on cannot be changed,

So in the bad times just accept the meaning,

The meaning of those times and move on,

Move on into the better times that are around you.

They have been there for so many years,

Just think of those good times and they will pull,

Pull you out of that despair back into the joy,

The joy that you know can be in your life.

That joy is within you,

That joy has been seen and captured,

Captured by me

And can be released back into your soul

Whenever you talk to me,

As I will listen,

And be there for you.

A comforting write Gold 'comfort' in the sense of 'strengthen' and 'solace'.
In Psalm 23 there is the rod and staff of the good Shepherd, which comforts us - sometimes with a prod? Like a kick up the backside? Who's going round kicking sheep?!
Also the staff to draw us onwards - hooked around our neck at times.

A very encouraging verse on how to pull up from despair- - any friend in need will treasure these words - thanks for sharing it Andy. I love the wonderful Pink Floyd number.

        • Goldfinch60

Thank you Fay for your kind words.

Pink Floyd are a wonderful group and this song in particular was written for Syd Barrett a former member of the band who had gone onto drugs and had mental health issues.

He/She is lucky to have a friend like you. Out of despair, could be easy and hard, depends on where you set your mind. Hope your friend could find the strength and out of the situation soon.
