Tune: Dominus Regit Me
('The King of love my Shepherd is')
********
Lord, hear and help where we sad, grieve
Our heavy burdens relieve
Though we each have some cross to bear
Daily your sufferings share
But they redemptive, have purpose
Shall work out good unto us
Whate'er the cause, pray to us give
Your comfort, strength, so we live
Help us do what we can, a part
Committed in mind and heart
Contributing towards the whole
Support body, spirit, soul
Not to forget when in our need
Our prayers you heard, did them heed
Thus thankful, grateful may we be
Your people praising humbly
Relying not on feelings, they
Unsure, and stable not stay
But trust in you, our solid ground
Lord you our foundation sound

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.7.8.7. metre, for any areas of life in which we may have forebodings. I could not settle yesterday. A trip to the vets. One of our piggies was more unwell than we thought, so we said goodbye to him. Do you get a sense of foreboding about people, animals, or situations at times?
