If I Ever Find You

Tom Wood

And if I ever find you

I will exclaim with great joy

But with what I have now

It’s much too late for second thoughts

So, if you find me

You may discover me wandering

Forgotten shores in my mind

Looking for another love like yours

Don’t tap my shoulder, I might break

Don’t whisper in my ears, I might shatter

This dust that has collected on my heart

Is just as numerous as sand on the shore of my sanity

If I ever find you, and you find me

I might think that I’m dreaming

For I held your hand once, but now I hold myself

Together; take your hand off my shoulder
