Amazed at the
insignificance.
Eight o'clock,
sunset soon.
Comedy rules
my TV screen
but I'm distracted.
Upon my west
facing blind
a sillohette.
The shadow
of a house
five doors away.
I'm transfixed
as I watch it
move slowly
across my blind
and takes me
back to the
the lyrics of
a love song
"so this old world must
still be spinning round
and I still love you.
So close your eyes
you can close your
eyes its alright.
I don't know
no love songs
and I cant sing
the blues anymore.
But I can sing this song
and you can sing this song
when I'm gone."
One of the first songs
I learned to play
on a guitar.
A beautiful simple
song here for you all.

- Comment from author about the poem: God bless James Taylor and his virtuoso guitar playing accompanying a simple beautiful love song. A song I sang often accompanied by my not so virtuoso guitar playing.

I discovered this as the B side to his biggy 'you've got a friend' all those years ago.
A fine write dusk.
A fine comment Orchidee, thank you.
Feed my soul with your rock & roll!
I bet you;d find a lot of my musical tastes bizarre.
Yes and what a beautiful thing to have none of my collection, with all a mix of all our bizarre taste.. We could feed off a soulful cake!
Great words and tune to help along times when memory takes us away to long-ago days - really enjoyed your posting dear friend.
