Life’s Events
Life is not a track event
In which you run the span
In the shortest time you can
Life is a field event
to try your best present
in a few attempts meant
Your time is set as it may
Twenty-four hour to a day
Waste it, and it won’t delay
The end for the game to play
Burn the midnight candle late
Or even at both ends, and you may hate
to end sooner than the game can wait
So take your time and play it fair, dear
Be higher, stronger, longer and happier

BRIAN HERE ~ Good evening AROBOT - Great Poem. I once worked @ a PE College and there is whole World of difference between TRACK & FIELD ~ Just as there is between Swimming & Diving. In Track & Swimming You are in group and beating the GROUP is the issue. You can winn Olympic Gold in a SLOW TIME as long as you win the FINAL ! But in FIELD (& Diving) its You against the World & the World Records ! You need to Jump further & higher and throw things further and execute the perfect DIVE ! In my experience *That is just how LIFE is* Thnaks for the analogy !
