WE BOUGHT SMOKEY in March but left Him in the Cattery (WE VISIT REGULAR !) until we had moved into our First House ~ made it our own ~ and got it ready for SMOKEY to move in with US ! We needed a secure Garden Fence (to keep Foxes out) a new cat flap a cat basket and a scratching post etc (in the Kitchen) because normally we would both be out all day. Cats are independent ! Angela would have liked a Golden Lab but we both agreed it was not practical in the present circumstances. She has one at her Parents that she can take for walkies etc.
SMOKEY*S comin* HOME on Friday
Our very first CAT He will be
So lets pray it will be a Dry Day
We*ll play in the Garden ~ not on the Settee !
We*ve bought Him a Basket to sleep in .......
A Scratch Post to sharpen his Claws
Lots of nice tasty food for to keep Him .......
Sated & Happy ~ a Show Cat of course !
We*ve made Him a Cat Flap ~ to pop IN & OUT
And not LOCKED in the Kitchen all day
He*ll soon make Friends ~ and be TOP CAT no doubt
And @ weekends with SMOKEY we*ll play !
Cats are so independent ~ find & make their own Space
They like comfort - attention - but not too much FUSS
The like you around ~ but not in their Face
We*ll just treat Him as ~ Happy Go-Lucky PUSS !
Hes a Three Year Old Male ~ with a nice Blue Sleek Coat
And now we*ve settled in ~ we can begin
To have a Ships Cat ~ on our *BOAT*
We*ll be ready on FRIDAY to welcome HIM IN ~ AMEN !

SMOKEY belonged to a Lady who died ~ He is an Abyssinian Blue and very House Trained. We saw Him for sale in the Cattery and because we have visited Him regularly He has got to know us. The Cattery advised us to settle in our Home first before introducing Smokey. Our Bird Tables & Baths are quite high - and to make sure the Birds are safe we wont feed them @ Ground Level ! There is a wire mesh over the Fish pond ! There are plenty of Cats & Kids & Trees in our Lane so it is a good natural Environment for Felix Felix to enjoy !

Its TRUE ! Ever since we got married - weve been going round *Like Scalded Cats* getting the House & Garden ready for SMOKEY. More work than preparing for a BABY !

Ahhh lovely. I had the same idea. I got a cat and a Lab, but the Lab did not fit through the cat flap. Doh! Is it only me that has these sort of problems? lol.
GOOD MORNING - Uncle Steve - pleased You enjoyed it. BRIAN has promised me a LAB when we start a Family ! The Animal experts inform me that CATS & DOGS can survive *Side by Side* ! However there is an order of assignment ! CAT first so it can mark out its territory especislly in the GARDEN. Then when it has settled in (at least a MONTH) one can introduce the DOG ! All will be sweetness & light as long as the DOG knows that the CAT is *Numero Uno ~ OK !*

Thanks FAY ~ Angela & I believe in Divine Guidence ! SMOKEY just seemed to be the right CAT @ the right TIME and the Famiy (who have a cat-hating DOG) only wanted £100 (very reasonable for an ABY !) to be made payable to the RSPCA ! Angela*s free on Friday 22 May - so we will pick him up Together so He can bond equally and He will have the whole W/E with us both - not six feet apart ! WE are both very very excited ~ AMEN !
