Her

Lena

Her

Down the river there's a forlorn girl
Her hair's a mess, her clothes are wrenched
She stares at her own shadow
Swallowing all the agony she's felt

Her eyes are sallow
Filled with sorrow
Her heart's in a quandary
Her thoughts carry fury

"What had she done to gain this pain?"
He was the one who did her wrong
But why did they accuse her?
As if she was the one who condemned !

Her mother blamed her, her friends left her
Her strengths were ripped apart
Her rectitude became the talk of the town

The sin she'd never committed
They became an anthem to be sung on symphony
Her misery became someone's ecstasy

Nevertheless, she wont let this melancholy take her place
She did no wrong
But did the people who put onus on her

The offender should be punished
So should the one who left her side
Afterall, she's the right to live a bright life

I tell her, I am by her side
I fight for her
Her pain signifies what many of us may feel afterwards
So I am going to do everything with my might

Dont leave her side
One day you may cry
She may be the victim today
God forbid, you may be tomorrow
Who knows!

Wow! So glad to make acquaintance with your guys. You guys are doing an amazing job. There are many individuals who are mistreated and abused, its really good to know that there are people who are happy to stay by the victims side and help them.
      Thank you for your comment!❤
P.S. I am studying law. Therefore, reading all those cases relating to abuses, harassment and rape just makes me sick! Those dreadful cases were the inspiration for me to write this poem.

So many innocent people are assumed to be the blame for something that was the fault of others. There should, and are, be people who come to their side and help them to go forward in there lives.

      Welcome to MPS.

Yeah! There are so many people who do so. I hope torturing, bullying those who actually need help would stop and people would stay by the victim's side rather than on the person' who put fault on the sufferer's head.
Thank you for your comment ❤
