Chains.
The chains
holding me sane distort
and break
at this time of day.
Memory seeps
out of sunset and turns
my heart
red to rusted yearning.
As sad sheds
its skin regret finds ways
to draw my
mind steadily backward.
After you,
ready-packed, told me
goodbye it
began to rain empty.
Shoulders
must bear the resultant
ache after
the name-calling palls.
No more
can be said about miss
than tears
at sunset's insistence.

GOOD THORSDAY FAY ~ Brian Here busy making the garden safe for SMOKEY for FRIDAY we are bth so so excited and He senses something is afoot. The Cattery says we can take his scrstching post with us cos He is used to it ! Love the Picture & the form of the POEM but the contents is MELANCHOLY. We were in our 30's when we got married but some of our Friends (who got married Younger) have now split up ~ mainly due to Male Infidelity - so so sad. Sunset reminiscences ~ Yearning - Regret - Goodbye - Ache & Tears ! It happens but we PRAY (every day) it will NEVER EVER happen to US ~ AMEN
Blessings & Peace & Joy
Love Brian & Angela 💛💛💛

Thank you Orchi.
A pensively fine poem Fay. Very well put together.
Ex animo, Alan
You chose such an interesting word to describe Chains my friend - pensive is what I had hoped the lines would evoke in readers' minds - - -- many thanks Alan for your visit and comment.
Beautiful emotive words Fay, the sun may set and those tears may flow but the sun will always rise again and dry those tears.
Andy
A wise outlook you give in your comment when tears drench lonely evenings dear Andy - - there is always tomorrow when the sun rises again.............. how true. Thank you for your input my friend.
