Ruwa - Praise Series

orchidee

Tune: Regent Square

('Light's abode, celestial Salem')

*********

'Ruwa', to shout, make a loud noise

Women and men, girls and boys

Ear-splitting sound, as an alarm

Of trumpets, to save from harm

Let all praise an give Him glory

The Lord He Almighty be

Psalm 47 v.11

Clap your hands now, all you people

Give praise to God, on Him call

Shout to God with voice proclaiming

His the triumph, he the King

For He is most high and awesome

King o'er the earth, to Him come

Zephaniah 3 v.14

Sing, people of Zion, and praise

Shout to Him, and voices raise

Be glad and rejoice whole-hearted

The Lord has not departed

From you, Jerusalem, it be

Ever His dwelling-place, see

Joshua 6 v.5

Round the walls of Jericho they

Marched with trumpets on the way

Circling the city, that so

All the enemy would know

That they would hen people shouted

Certain would be defeated

Ahh, maybe that's the origin of the word then. I dunno what the words meant, until a list explained them to me!

Though familiar with scriptural text the Hebrew word Ruwa is new to me so thank you for giving its meaning dear Orchi.

Thanks Fay. Erm, I'm not familiar with Hebrew much. The words all came up on a list online.
