TO BE A BROTHER TO BE A SISTER

Thomas J. Dooley

To be a brother is to be there

To help those weak become strong

To be a sister is to be near

To ease the fear

To be a brother is to be a wall

To hold community emotions back

To be a sister is to lead

To inspire families to move forward

To be a brother is to be loud

To be a voice for those who don't know their own choice

To be a sister is to show passion

To stand up against the so-called bastards

To be a brother is to show a strong hand

To pull those up who fallen through the cracks

To be a sister is to protect the new life

To provide nourishment for the body and mind

So let be human and lift up a community
