The Two Ladies.

Goldfinch60

Each day they look down on me,

These two wonderful ladies.

My lover of so many years

Now passed, and waiting for me,

Looks at me with her wondrous smile.

That love between us, still there

As she looks at me with love

Which shines all about me.

Calliope is there as well,

Showing me the way to form my words

So that each word can reach out,

Reach out and touch the world,

Showing my love for all,

As each morning I write,

Write these words.

  • Comment from author about the poem: They are both there for me every morning. A comment about the video written about it "I've now spent a good 20 years trying to play guitar like Joe Pass. I can now finally nail the screwed up face expressions of deep concentration. Now gotta work on those licks."

Two ladies stood at a bus stop near Southampton..... "My husband works for Cunard" says the first one. "Well MY husband works quite hard too you know" replies lady No 2.
