Penitent Pleas

orchidee

Tune: Newington

('Thine for ever, God of love')

Psalm 80 parts

********

Give ear, O Israel's Shepherd

In your mercy our prayers heard

By you, who your sheep do lead

Tend unto them and them feed

Turn us, O God, us restore

Us again, we you implore

Cause your face to on us shine

Send bright beams of light divine

So we shall be saved, and know

Your mercy, your keeping so

Be not angry, but pardon

By your grace each humble one

Return to us, Lord, we pray

Look from heav'n on us this day

Visit us, we your vine, see

In your vineyard, so we be

This vineyard you have planted

You have tilled it and it fed

Branches there you have made strong

For yourself, this be our song

    Good one Orchi, keep singing?

    • orchidee

Thanks Gold. I'm singing in space now, as it's said 'In space no one can hear you scream!'

      Orchi,

I wish your singing here on earth could quell these tumultuous times!

Thanks Laura. Ahh, it could - it would cause everyone in the troubles to run away and scatter!

That's the way... belt it out

I reckon I recall this tune from my childhood choirboy day..

          Thanks Neville.
