The Sorriest of Words

Neville

The Sorriest of Words

The cry she made
Was barely heard

Helpless
As a baby bird

And twice as hungry
Yet still frightened

Sorry might be just
Another word regardless

  • Fay Slimm.

Times like you so aptly describe are etched in the heart and mind where sorry seems so inadequate. A haunt of a read...............x

thank you Fay,,, considering this is one of those that kind of wrote itself, I shall pass the message on ….

Bam and ain't that the truth when we forget that action speak louder that words! Our Internet feels like a burden of a curse, when they can't cope force remains the first...

      Great work my friend!

      Much peace and respect

        A fine write Neville.
'E'ermore' is another sorry word - well, a 'sad' word in the sense of boring! lol.

        • Neville

I like that particular word & thank you for gracing my little scribble with your visit today 👍

          • orchidee

You seen any 'e'ermores' about? You could look for them, and I will look for 'sorry's!

          • MendedFences27

"Sorry" is just another word, but so are "sincere" and "disingenuous." Sometimes your "sorriest of words" falls off lips like a lead balloon, and less frequently it delivers at least some solace. It's when nothing is said that causes the greatest concern.
A self-written poem with the weight of empathy clinging to its intent. Perhaps your words will cause many to pause and consider.
Well done, Neville - Phil A.

It can be such a sad word when more should be said and done.
