Climax
After a series of
deliberate
well placed strokes
Some kind of fusion
occurred
And then,
They reached
for a cigarette …

A wonderful description of striking a match on a well worn matchbox's sandpaper strip.
It takes such insight to see the poetry such a mundane task, now another fragment of the past. Similar to my sex life really.
I am more than honoured by your late evening visit sir... thank you for stopping by...... 🍷. cheers
Neville

If I read more into this, it will bring on a hefty swoon. Fido will chuck buckets of cold water on me! lol.
Did ya know Mary (Hopkin)? Not personally of course - you know her songs?! 'Twas about the time I stopped watching 'Top of the Pops' I reckon.
I did not know that .. but am not surprised... thanks for popping in sir... have a great Tuesday
Neville
What would I know, about any alternative reading of it? Fido never lets me have much ardour or excitement. He says - of course it's ONLY about striking matches! lol.
Yep
Just how it usually works for me
And over as quickly
Good fun
thank you for taking a peek at my little scribble sir.. very much appreciated

This kind of behavior will kill you! You also know it's habit forming or addictive. There will be life-altering consequences, not to mention the cost. So if you have to chose which to lose, just keep on smoking.
A great big chuckle from me. - Phil A.
well ya know what they say... you can beat an egg but ya can't beat a good old chuckle.. cheers Phil
Neville
See how all that smoking has aged me...
I forget what came before that....
AHHHH!!!! YES, lighting of the match.
Hey, you wont believe how much I have missed you Suresh, thanks for stopping by and saying hi.. Hope you are safe and well my friend
Neville
Yes, and you too have been in my thoughts continuously.
Hoping that you have recovered well, and believing so by your humor
