Tune: Capetown
('Gracious Spirit, holy dove')
Adapted from poem 'Foremost' by Fay Slimm, with permission
********
Love needs itself, nothing more
Love acts, but ne'er seeks applause
Love withstands words spoke to hurt
Never vain nor curt
Love pledges cares, ne'er reverts
Love regrets not, knows no guilt
Intends forgiveness to win
Let healings begin
Love vows its feelings not end
Love becomes a bond for e'er
Heals raw hearts with Heaven's law
From its gracious store
Love is foremost force of all
Possible, not order tall
To aspire to, each [a] part takes
Towards good all makes

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 7.7.7.5. metre. Fay's original poem is in 2-line stanzas, while this poem is in 4-line stanzas, so it does not always rhyme.

Love in Law. Fulfilled by Jesus. Nice Poem.
Thanks A. As I've noted, it's not my original poem - it's based on another poet's poem on here.
