Do You Tread the New Path?

Goldfinch60

In life that path has been trod,

You have reached where are

With patience and fortitude,

It has been a good life.

Then came that day

When all changed,

Where your life could take a path,

An unexpected path,

One that had never been entertained,

Entertained before.

A decision needed to be made,

What should you do?

It is such a different route,

A different route in your life.

It is so appealing to you

But the change frightens you.

In our lives we have walked many paths,

Some were wonderful,

Some were full of sadness,

But the good always overcome the bad.

So the choice is yours

The good is there for you.

Do you want to reach for it?

Good write Gold. I was stopped by a huge puddle on a ramble. I had not tried a nearby track. It just happened to be an alternative route, which missed the impassable puddle!

    • Goldfinch60

Thanks Orchi, those alternative routes can lead to winders in our lives.

    • ANGELA & BRIAN

ANGELA HERE - Thanks for sharing UNCLE ANDY. Love the pathos in Ellas Lyric :

They*re writing songs of love - but not for me
A lucky star*s above - but not for me
With love to lead the way I*ve found more clouds of gray
Than any Russian play could guarantee .........................
      I guess he*s not for me ............................
      And there*s nought I guess - he*s not for me !

This reflects my experiences so often in the past - before I me!t Brian. I am so so glad I waited for the Proverbial Mister Right ! When we decided to get ENGAGED (a first for both of us @ 28 & 33) and get married a few Months ago - these were very big decisions & life changers I had never cohabited with a MAN. So far - so good but (as you know) there has to be an equilibrium of GIVE & TAKE ! Smokey has been a great Blessing and we lovei t when he cuddles up (equally) between us. *Home is where the CAT is* and any probs we may have melt away ! He purrs louder when we stroke Him together ! Being MARRIED is a wonderful revelation for both of us and as Mamma Cass said *Our Love is growing - deeper - warmer - wilder - every Day* AMEN !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours & the Croquet Club !
      Love Angela & Brian & Smokey 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛

I hope you are away enjoying a change of scenery.
Yes, we should take advantage of the changing circumstances in our lives. There is plenty of the good and wholesome out there for us.

      • Goldfinch60

Yes I am enjoying it, it is good to be amongst old friends and seeing my family face to face for real.

Change in our lives can always lead us to new and wonderful things.

        Andy,

A great read to remind us that the road we travel can be a rocky one! Here’s a quote by Mehmet Murat ildan that I refer to when I feel overwhelmed by what is happening around me.

“The road to happiness has never been a straight one, and yet, it is the only road worth traveling, no matter how curvy or rocky it is.”

I hope your friend’s choice will bring her the happiness she deserves.

        Laura🌻

        P.S.-Happy Father’s Day!🎈

Such a good quote, I always live my life in total belief of that quote.

Great tribute to your friend Andy.

          When opportunity knocks
          Decisions must be made
          Take the road to happiness
          Walk the path unafraid

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you AP, that road always brings happiness, at least it has in my life.

I personally try to tread the middle path.. it works for me although seldom smoothe, it helps to keep the eyes open...

life is full of choices, risks and opportunities .... a fine contemplative read this early mane...

Thank you Neville, many of those choices in our lives we take and see the wonderful life to which they can lead.
