Acrostic for Helena.

Goldfinch60

The time has come once more

When another year comes to your life

Enriching your dreams in the future

Negating the sorrows of your past

Taking you into that glory where

Years do not matter

Towards your future

With passion and beauty

Out into your wide world

  • Comment from author about the poem: It is my younger granddaughter's 22nd birthday to day, she has completed her University course, French and Italian, with flying colours and has got a job in the University of Lyons. She is off to France tomorrow to meet her boyfriend, who lives in Paris, and will go to his parents cottage on the Mediterranean (such a hard life) before she starts her work in September/October in Lyons.

A fine write Gold. Oohh, did we have so many travels before we were 22? That might be round about the year 1066, if we were at Hastings as young men!

      Thanks Orchi.
Well we did go to Battle that one day!

Yep, and I turned up and mucked it all up, as you saw in person! Why didn't I just stay in bed that day?

There ARE fairy tales brought to us upon feathered dreams. The reality of other's lifes can fill our imagination.

Our simple day to day pleasures may sometimes seem overshadowed until we begin to enjoy them. As i know you do.

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you d a. Every day that I can get up in the morning is a pleasure, as I am sure that it is for you as well.

            Andy

ANGELA HERE - Thanks Uncle Andy for a fine Acrostic Tribute to Your graduating Granddaughter - You must be very pround. Such poems urge us to start our family asap ! French is such a beautiful Language for the medium of Soken Poetry & Song. No better performer than Edith Piaf *Regretting Nothing !* I hope I too can sig that wth such sincerity & feeling @ her age. Thanks for caring !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you AP, I was with her and the family yesterday, on her birthday, we met in a park and shared birthday cake with each other. No hugging of course because of covid. She is off to France today and her last words to me as we were leaving were "See you at Christmas Grandy".

(sorry to use the C word this early in the year)

                  Andy
