Acrostic for Helena.

The time has come once more

When another year comes to your life

Enriching your dreams in the future

Negating the sorrows of your past

Taking you into that glory where

Years do not matter

Towards your future

With passion and beauty

Out into your wide world

A fine write Gold. Oohh, did we have so many travels before we were 22? That might be round about the year 1066, if we were at Hastings as young men!

    • Goldfinch60

      Thanks Orchi.
Well we did go to Battle that one day!

      • orchidee

Yep, and I turned up and mucked it all up, as you saw in person! Why didn't I just stay in bed that day?

There ARE fairy tales brought to us upon feathered dreams. The reality of other's lifes can fill our imagination.

Our simple day to day pleasures may sometimes seem overshadowed until we begin to enjoy them. As i know you do.

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you d a. Every day that I can get up in the morning is a pleasure, as I am sure that it is for you as well.

Beautiful write for your granddaughter Andy. Happy 22nd Birthday to her.

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you AP, I was with her and the family yesterday, on her birthday, we met in a park and shared birthday cake with each other. No hugging of course because of covid. She is off to France today and her last words to me as we were leaving were "See you at Christmas Grandy".

(sorry to use the C word this early in the year)

                  • Accidental Poet

No apologies necessary Andy (Grandy) ; ) Glad you got to spend time with her and family.

                  • The Uneducated O.A.P

Wouldn't we all like to be 22 again and travel the world? Sadly didn't happen in my day, now students do it at the drop of a hat, even our daughters employer let thier staff take a year off to go traveling if they want to. Without pay of course. Best wishes to your granddaughter, Bill

                    • Goldfinch60

Thank you Bill. It is so true about the way they travel. We were sitting having coffee one day and we were talking about a dinner she had with friends in Birmingham. She then showed us some photographs and one of them was at a restaurant, I said to her "Was that the meal in Birmingham?" and just in a matter of fact voice she said "Oh no, that was the one in Paris".
