Tune: Corpus Christi
('Jesus in thy dear Sacrament')
**********
Your Sacrament we may share, see
Though be virtually
Until time we may meet again
Commune in person then
Yet still partake of bread and wine
Your gracious gifts divine
Strengthened in this, we still are fed
By you our living Head
'Corpus Christi', Christ's body be
And blood symbolically
It we not transubstantiate
Not in literal state
For it your simple meal ordained
Before you suffered, pained
And then did die and rise again
Great Saviour of all men (mankind)
For you said, Lord, each time we do
Eat and drink, recall you
Remember your Passion, love shown
As you for us atone

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. from an Anglican/Protestant view. Though the hymn is better known in high-church or Anglo-Catholic churches, it seems. Here I mean Anglo/Roman Catholic, though the word 'Catholic' means 'universal'.

Never forget the bread and wine Orchi
Great rouse thank you...
Thanks Andrew.
If only it was real Orchi, if only.
Thanks Gold. Well, real, though not in literal sense, as Roman Catholics see it.
Where would we be without communication sir ..... as soon as it breaks down, we are all
Thanks Neville. You run out of communication there - we are all..............?
Good Afternoon - Uncle Steve - Thanks for keeping us *Neai the Cross" The NEW TESTAMENT makes Communion simple & non-ritualistic. We Evangelicals see all that is necessary is ONE BELIEVER - The TRINITY and Bread & Beverage. At CAMP we have celebrated it with COCA COLA & Donuts with Angela & I officiating - NO HOCUS POCUS ~ AMEN. All you need is FAITH not RITUAL - AMEN. Its an experience in St Peters Rome with the Pope officiating but no more EFFECTIVE than Angela & I with the Coke & Donuts ~ OK !
Blessings to YOU & Your Papal Pooch
Spiritual Love Brian & Angela & Smokey !
Loved the HYMN ~ WE love all your HYMN choices !
Yes, it's not heretical - Coke and donuts! Well, if we're joining in online Communion Services from home, we are reminded to get bread and/or juice ready - if can't afford wine. Only Waitrose shoppers can, probably! lol.
I can't go along with transub-wotsit though, and not just because it's a long word!
Wonderful write Orchi.
Thanks AP.
