Scotland's first lady of music,
Aberdeen"s Celtic queen of soul,
A winning, dynamic partnership with Dave Stewart formed The Eurythimics,
Musical goddess and an incredible tour de force on the whole.
Annie Lennox,
Solo artist now extraordinaire,
Creative visionary, timeless appeal and the ability to re-invent herself,
One readily awaits in anticipation for her next musical affair

Once I found a beat-up CD (no box) on the side of the road. It was so weathered the label was bleached away. This was maybe 20 years ago. I almost threw it away but decided to try to play it and it turned out to be AL's Medusa. I grew to love that album, and Whiter Shade of Pale became a personal favorite. So I connect AL with serendipity, like learning from you that she's from Aberdeen! I am a Texan, but recognize that Scotland just breeds poetry and song, from the medieval "makars" like William Dunbar to the genius of Dougie Maclean and the soul of Jean Redpath. I had no idea Annie was Scottish, so THANK YOU for letting me know!
Good afternoon jarcher54,
Greetings to a fellow AL fan.
You're welcome.
She left Aberdeen at the age of 16 or 17 to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
She never looked back. Wow that's brave.
Aberdeen was always going to be too small for legendary talents.
Keep writing and safe during these challenging times.
