  • Comment from author about the poem: Ennio Marricone has passed away. He is the man who painted emotion, with his sound, accompanying many of the great films we have watched enthralled. In my chosen video his music truly creates such atmosphere..... leaving one quite moved.

Fitting music for a young boy under love's hypnotic spell. And a fine tribute to Morricone. ; ) AP

Funny thing is you've probably heard it many times... he was a chameleon. You didn't see him but he was there in so many films and even commercials. He could adapt to anything, he made fantastic music that created ambiance and emotion and told stories but was somehow always commercially successful. It is said his music made Clint Eastwood what he is in those early westerns.

      Dusk,

Today I shed some tears when I learned of the passing of the beloved brilliant Italian artist, Ennio Morricone! A great loss indeed !

I like your video choice. It gives us a glimpse of
his musical genius. Malèna is one of my favorite movies.

Thank you for sharing your poem in honor of the legendary Ennio Morricone.

P.S.-Did you know that he wrote dis own obituary?

You beat me to it d a. I love Morricone's work and have many recordings of it.

Your words say it all he wrote and painted emotion in his work.

Thanks DA. You are so right. His scores often told more of the story than the images. And in great films like Malena, he stood back a little and let the film lead the way most of the time... then he tied the scene up and made everything hold together. Bittersweet epitaph. Thank you.
