The road of life you have walked is behind you,
As you look back you see the hills and troughs
That have brought you to this day.
You can see where life has been so wonderful
But interspersed with those moments hurt.
Others have joined you on your road
Bringing goodness and love to your life,
Some walking with you for most of it
In that never ending love until they leave,
Leave for another path that has called them.
That is when you must realise it is your path,
And yours alone.
Others may walk it with you,
But nobody can walk it for you.

Good write Andy.
Tricky on some 'paths' involving tracks, or even un-marked tracks (it's not on the map, this route!).
I have some strange walks. If I wish, it can be through cow field, or horse field, or through the middle of farmland! All on 'permitted paths'.
Middle of nowhere even - a not well-used track with 6 ft grass either side of me.
We travel many paths in our lives but we have made our journey to where we are and the path ahead will be easier to tread with the experience we have.
Andy
Comfortably we walk among friends and feel the strength of their being. But when misfortune lands or physical pain tears through our bones we bear that alone. However we overcome the bumps along our path stays with us, becomes us.
We become the path we trod.
We have reached where we are today by treading hte paths of our passed knowing that the path ahead will be easier to tread.

Would you change anything Andy
I would not change anything, I am in a good place now, the only thing I would have liked would be to have my wife still with me but there was nothing I could do to stop her passing into that other world where we will meet in time.
Andy
i enjoyed the theme of the write,we walk our own road in life, but i wonder if it was pre destined
Than k you ron,.
I do not believe it was predestined as we make the choices.
Andy
who knows
The poem contains truths that people often forget.
Thank you Alexis, all we need to do is remember how we got to where we are today.
