Tune: North Coates
('O my Saviour lifted')
*********
Be Lord near us always
Even through all days
Your Spirit in our hearts
Satisfies all parts
Lead us on through dark times
Of life's ways and rhymes
Grant light shines through struggles
Yet trusting, none falls
You who ne'er lose control
Human woes take toll
Give repentance where we
Fail your way to go
And forgive, heal, restore
We can ask no more
Except you by grace say
Come to me today
Look on the afflictions
Of here needy ones
Turning to you we live
Us your help you give

Being an atheist I find it difficult to comment on your work but I have to say for its sheer consistency and quality deserve a medal. Actually make it a couple.
Thanks M. Miss Berles handing out the medals soon?!
GOOD THURSDAY ~ UNCLE ANDY ~ Because we are committed Christians Angela & I find the consistency of your *Famous & Familiar* daily Praise & Poem Postings a sheer delight and a Spiritual Uplift @ the begining of each day ! AWESOME ! What is even more amazing you always get applauded (never castigated) by those who deplore & castigate Chriatianity ! Angela & I try to post at least one SPIRITUAL SONG & POEM each week but for some it is *One too Many !* We even acquired SMOKEY CAT thinking thta your appeal may be due to FIDO !
What TRUTHS does your Poem share with us today?
V 1. God is near - His Spirit satisfies
V 2. God leads us & lights our Way
V 3. God is in control & Forgives where we Fail !
V 4. We need Gods Presence to Forgive - Heal - Restore
V 5. Despite all our afflictions - GODS presence restores us 24/7 !
Thanks Steve thats my Five point Sermon for Sunday ! We are back in Church ~ Sunday pm ~ AMEN !
God is eternally GOOD
Blessings & Joy to YOU & Fab Fido
Love Brian & Angela & Smokey Cat !
Thanks A&B. They dare not castigate me. They know Fido will attack them if they do - or his very loud bark is enough anyway! lol. You could set Smokey on your detractors. Nasty razor-sharp claws!
And - erm, are you like the BBC - repeat sermons?!
orchard - i am not religious but i do believe in my heart guiding me. i could make these words fit my own belief. this works because it is religious but can also be accepted from outside of the god element. Diane
Thanks Diane. I prefer to use the terms 'Christian' or 'spiritual' really myself.
