dawns delight

dusk arising

beauty of the dawns delight
the rainbow wings of angels flight
and breathing ecstacy of life
a gift of love, inspired

awakening afresh from dreams
to a conscious, rediscovering
the joyous place my soul has seen
through shadows of the night

colours,  shapes,  confused,  compete
to paint the dream i crave repeats
where joy of love inspired me
forever reaching higher

still pouring from my fingertips
and softly spoken on my lips
my wonderous dream, is suddenly eclipsed
.....with the dawning of your smile

  • Comment from author about the poem: a piece i posted a while back, up for a second airing. This is about a loving, sensual passionate dream and then as you begin to awaken you try to hang on to that dream but it fades and as you finally open your eyes ... you find the the lover in your dream is laid next to you...... smiling. (ahem! been there, done that LOL).\r\n\r\nThe music is the track which inspired me all those years ago to take up saxophone ... I\\\'v got five of the darned things at the moment...wanna buy one?

May that smile always remind you of those wondrous times.

Sorry I haven't got room for a sax, two trumpets, three clarinets, two guitars, ukulele, three recorders, six tin whistles and of course the piano are more than enough for me to struggle with. LOL

Oh i forgot to mention, electric guitar, electric bass, synthesizer, harmonicas, ukelele, loads of microphones mostly SM58's, stands, foldback system, monitors, amps, mixers, recording desk, effects pedals, reverb unit.... miles of cables and oodles more of musician debris from my years.
.... but shall I ever get the chance to gig again?

      • Goldfinch60

Maybe one day you will gig again but the memories of the passed gigs will be with you forever.

Oh I forgot the two harmonicas!

GOOD MORNING D A - Thnaks for some lively SAX to kick start a Sunny Saturday. We love Sunrise especially when its NO WORK and Brian can bring me a hot buttered bun & my first caffeine shot of the day ! Love the poem and the dreamy concept of waking up to the Sunrise and it being eclipsed by your Lovers Smile ! Even after four months I am still not used to waking up & finding Brian snug & warm by my side ! Thanks for a beautiful *Ode to Sunrise*. Brian has three guitars and a mandolin - I have a Mini Piano and a Maxi Keyboard. We dont do Woodwind or Brass because we sing !

        Love - Peace & Joy

Dunno how I could swoon in my dreams, but I might do if I had these sort of dreams.

musicality, at its free spirited best
            capturing that freshly oven-baked
reassuring warmth, of a new day's Aurora: of muffin goodness
