Passover Participation

Tune: St Peter

('How sweet the name of Jesus sounds')

Exodus 12 v.1-14 part

***********

When plagues on Egypt dd befall

The Lord then gave the call

To prepare for the Passover

And so no death incur

For then a lamb they were to take

And a sacrifice make

It did symbolise, prefigure

The Lamb of God for sure

The blood was to be put upon

The two door posts, each one

And on the upper post, lintel

Of each front door, on all

For that night the Lord would pas through

Egypt, and He would too

Kill all the first-born of the land

By dark death's-angel's hand

But where blood seen on the houses

The Lord, He espouses

To pass over them, spare from death

It would be as He saith

So as they there did then abide

In houses did reside

So may we stay by Jesus' cross

For He redeems our loss

Our only plea, our only place

And true for every race

Protection here, we safe and sound

Here praises do redound

For Christ the Lamb of God is slain

Need never die again

Salvation whole He does provide

Let us in Him confide
