For Cindy

Tayama

Across the table, denim skirt, tube top and bangs...

Which always melts my heart.

Glasses of beer clinking...

We kind of liked each other from the start...

Hers is gone, she says, "Lets go".

Off to the club for a rock and roll show.

The guys in the band all stare at her and smile...

Didn't matter, I knew she was mine.

After a few, down to the car on those very steep stairs...

As we kissed, I thought, "Glad I have long hair".

When we think things are meant to be and they turn out to be fleeting...

It doesn't alter what it was or its true meaning.

When hearts touch and fuse...

Regardless of the pain...you've won...never lose.

And as the wrinkles get deep and the brown begins to fade...

We close our eyes and relive...that long ago, first perfect date.

Nice one. Any reader of my posts will see how i share the reminiscing habit the years have ordained me with.
As is contained in your words today, like you, I am thankful to be able to look back and know I lived a bit in those days.

That special love found on the first date is so wonderful in our long lives.
