There before me was a clearing
Surrounded by the trees of the wood.
I stopped and looked,
Looked around at natures glory.
The green lush grass beneath me,
Above me the bright blue sky
Dappled with pure white bubbles of clouds.
And around me the beautiful woodland,
So many wonderful colours to admire.
I lay down and let nature breath on me,
And in me.
A gentle breeze rustled the trees
Giving a beat to natures symphony,
The birds sang through my heart.
As I lay there it was strangely enervating,
Both enervating and calming as I drifted,
Drifted in my world,
My world with Nature.

I would lay down too, but I keep walking near cows fields, and I would pong of manure! Well, don't go too near those fields then, Orchi. lol.
Ohh, I savoured the pong of fresh manure, and didn't have my mask with me!
Those cows can drop some odd smelling lumps but they are bi enough to be avoided.
You should always have your mask with you - it can prevent you singing.

That's a lovely place you describe there Goldfinch and it seems these days you are much more attuned to it.
Is the traffic noise picking up again during your morning walks now that more people are returning to work. Is it a distraction.
That great Matt Monro number is one i have used on here too. It's the best thing he ever recorded by a long shot. I saw the italian job when it was released back in 69 i think it was and of course that was the intro music/song. A great choice and good to hear again today. I was 17 years old and had just moved to Gloucester... memories.
Yes d a I am very much attuned to nature and am with it practically every day.
Yes the traffic noise is picking up but I try to ignore it and listen for other things.
I too saw the film when it came out, one of the most remembered films of my youth, it was my 21st year of my life and was still living in Kent, moved to Evesham in 1999.

Lovely number and how I agree that nature is the experience we all need to console and revive our memories of love............. thank you for sharing your walk in the woods dear Andy.
Thank you Fay nature is such a healing participant in our lives.

'I lay down and let nature breath on me' - decadently emotive,
I took my daily walk, immersed in your words
so my actual walk - later, must be counted as a bonus
and long has it been decreed: bonus physical exertion must be compensated by an extra portion of dessert!
(and they said I was bad at maths...) 🙂
Thank you L.B. I am glad that my words became your dessert and your walk was enhanced by my words.

Beautifully written GoldenFinch.
How great it is to be able to escape from our load and artificial world. Bathing in the sunlight and sounds of the forest, that’s what my heart longs for.
