Blotting out thoughts

benevolentbluebabe

Countless nights of broken sleep
drifting, after months of days spent,
smiling through the agonies,
nursing a heart that rent.

When darkness falls, loneliness cannot contain,
but fills every crevice of my head
bringing with it such a pain,
in mulling over lost things said.

I doze before the television
in hopes of filling some vacancy—
the void you left—numbing all emotion,
rotting in complacency.

Figures flash before my eyes,
in those violent lapses of time,
staving off desolate isolation
by blotting out all thoughts of mine.

Good emotive write but I am sure that desolation will soon come to an end while your words fill our lives.
