She sits on the deck, her back to me, as I stare at the curve of her neck...
Freckles on her shoulder...I wonder if I told her...
I haven't, not yet today...her long dress blows in the wind...a few strands of grey?
She is the picture of grace...and gave me 2 children that filled this space...
This home, years now settled and filled...
And right now still...
I breath a little faster, how did I ever catch her?
They day she turned around to see who was speaking...I felt the need to stop seeking...
Bangs across her face, I was frozen in place...
As I am now, for she allowed...
This scene to repeat in a never-ending loop...
Because she believed, and told me...it could...
I bend and kiss her neck, and time ceases as she releases...
The smile that brought me here...
And the damage of what I was once was...disappeared..
The jubilance of our lives are often perceived by what we believe love to be...
Through the falsehoods of our dishonesty...
And occasionally a rare chance at love interjects, hoping we are not to broken to see...
That in those exact moments when the sunshine seems to have been created for no one but you and me...
That warmth and peace is love, and its free....
And before the kids come by and start, I need to tell her...
That she saved my heart...
A stained glass lets the sun filter through and enhance the beauty of its light...
The sun on her face, her lips that I taste...
Reminds me of the night...
She nodded with a tear, as the moonlight sneaked through...
As I knew...
When we breath and let love enter, then grow...It becomes like a book of yellowing pages...
Where time stands still like a bookmark...
And lives intertwine and become ageless...
The windows of our lives have often been that stained glass...
That she would open and let the sun and love it brings pass...
The other morning, as I helped her out of her chair...
She righted herself and caught my stare...smiled...
Love answered our prayers...

That love will be there for eternity Tayama.
Andy
It has. 33 years now. The day she turned around was in December 1986. She was getting married to another guy in 6 weeks. She ended that and we went out 10 times and then married. I was a damaged, addicted lost soul when I saw her. Listened to my father that day...He said. "You'll know when you see her and that will be the day your life will go one way or another." I chose wisely.
'The(y) day she turned around to see who was speaking...I felt the need to stop seeking...'
how poetic and concise
