I walk the streets and see these people
Looking down at their screens,
Wires dangling from their ears,
No interest in what’s happening around them.
Others walk and their faces so sad
As though the troubles of the world weigh them down.
I walk from the streets into nature
And still they are there,
Missing so much of the glory around them.
Just looking down,
Not a smile to be seen.
I walk my life in happiness
Despite any troubles in my life
I am still here,
And each day I get up
I know my life is good.
The smile comes upon my face
And I know that smile
Will be seen by all that I pass
When I walk the streets,
Or walk with Nature.

We are the positive kind Goldfinch, happy with where we fit into the scheme of things, accepting that there are, have always been and will continue to be those with greater and lesser crosses to bear .... content and in love with the world and life itself.
I dunno what the rest have on their minds though. Some i suspect are vacant but hey... we all have our individual paths to tread.
True d a, we are each individuals, if we were all the same it would be a very boring life.

A fine write Gold.
Thanks Orchi.
positivity in mindset, naturally translates to a wider lensed scope of the horizons before us and the mountainous paths we traverse,
a poignant write on one of the most undervalued tools in coping methodology
wonderful flow and detail, in this thought provoking write Andy
Thank you LB, much appreciated.

A smile cost nothing so my old Gran would say and oh how it lifts a gloomy spirit - a beautiful tribute to the simple smile Andy and how it can reflect on all around......... I love the saying I noted quite recently that at first made me chuckle with its forceful last words - - but how beautifully this mantra works - -- --- " If you see someone without a smile - --- GIVE EM ONE"
Your 'old Gran' was so right Fay and that saying is quite correct, I will note that for future use. The one I often quote is "Smile, it confuses people".
