The Seaside

FineB

Rippling waves and a clear blue sea,

Donkey rides, Punch and Judy and afternoon tea,

Sandcastles, buckets, and spades & footprints in the sand,

Fortune tellers, Crazy golf, and Psalmists read your hand.

Rides on the Carousel, rollercoaster and ghost train,

The Victorian pavilion provides shelter from the rain.

Young couples walk along the pier happy and in love,

Seagulls fly majestically in the skies above.

People are open enjoying the open sea air,

An idyllic haven to seek peace when alone,

It's enjoyable with others or simply on your own.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I would love 💘 to be beside the seaside this time of the year. Brighton is my British seaside resort. I dont think I'll get there with the social distancing on the trains and the global pandemic. The crowds seem to be flocking to the beaches. Well during these times of Covid 19 I will enjoy the pleasures of the seaside I wrote in verse. FineB

I actually went to the seaside with a friend a couple of months ago, coffee in Broadstairs, ice cream in Dover and there were not many people around, we had a wonderful time just walking by the seashore.
