Poem About Me

Too many thoughts in my head

Anxiety way too high

Too much stress

To the point I cry

Hide in my room

Until the end of the day

Just hoping that

Everything’ll be okay

Blame myself for things

That aren’t my fault

Feeling guilty and bringing

My happiness to a halt

Everyone else has problems

So I put on a fake smile

I just hope they don’t notice

Cause I’ve been doing it for a while

I hold back the tears

And hope no one’ll see

I try to hide the pain

To hide the real me

The one that doesn’t

Want to get out of bed

The one that has

Too many thoughts in their head

The me that deals with

Anxiety and depression

And just trying to deal

With all this tension

Dealing with toxic parenting

For most of my life

And hoping that there

Is a better afterlife

But if there isn’t

That’ll be okay

I just hope that

I find happiness one day

I know that everyone else

Struggles with sadness and fear

So if anyone needs to talk

I’ll do my best to be here

  • Comment from author about the poem: This was hard writing this poem because I never really talk about these things and most of my friends don't even know that I struggle with mental illness.

Very strong emotive write Panangel. You are strong within yourself as your words show, that strength will pull you out of your sadness and fear and take you into a wonderful life if you can find somebody to listen to you, there are such people out their, they are called good friends.

  • A passing lyric

    I am in your boat
I am the happy and bubbly girl that hides a lot like you do.
    You are not alone
    We are not alone.
Our boat will dock one day onto a sunny island.
    Great poem 😊
